Office & Storage Partitioning at Large Warehouse - Suffolk
A mezzanine office and server room for logistic specialists the Tobar Group in Eye, Suffolk.
Project Outline
As part of a large refurbishment to the existing warehouse a new mezzanine, mezzanine office and racking were installed to increase storage capacity and usable floor space. This also included a new suspended ceiling, column casings and fascia to provide fire protection to the underside of the mezzanine. Before over a hundred new LED light fittings were installed to provide an excellent level of light to the picking and packing areas.
A partition box was then constructed on the ground floor to act as a new server room. Finally the main part of the project was on the first floor of the mezzanine where a warehouse office was constructed. An office with a view; this elevated workspace would provide extensive views across the main warehouse space below.
- Partition walls were erected.
- Window and door sets were added to suit the designed layout.
- Additional strong posts were included for sturdiness.
- Quilt insulation was added into the walls to ensure a cosy environment for office workers.
- Vinyl wall paper and trims where installed both inside and outside the newly built office.
- Feature flooring was laid including a small entrance matt area.

Project Challenges
A company’s servers are one its most important and valuable assets, and as a result server rooms are high specification office spaces that require extra special attention.
As part of this project air conditioning was fitted to ensure the most appropriate atmosphere and environment for the servers themselves. Additionally, due to the dimensions of the existing server cabinets, oversized doors were commissioned and installed to ensure that the cabinets could be relocated into their new home with ease.
The Benefits of Longstanding Customer Relationships
In the design phase of the project we arranged to take representatives from Tobar to visit an existing, longstanding client of ours so that they could see first-hand some of the different interior options that were available.
Being able to see the finish of flooring, ceiling and partitioning ‘in real life’ aided the client’s decision making process and gave them extra confidence.
