Usually Acorn Works is commissioned to divide up work space, but sometimes the opposite is true and we are asked to either edit or completely remove existing partition walls.
Recently GPS Pipes of Huntingdon approached us, with exactly this request as part of a wider office refurbishment. Partition walls were removed to open up further office space which was then plastered and made good again in preparation for decoration.
Additionally, other partition walls were ‘edited’ to better deliver the work space that our client now needed. An opening was made into an existing block-work wall to receive a new custom door frame set (pictured). While an existing door frame was blocked up and converted into an internal office window.
To avoid disruption to staff this work was carried out over a weekend.
Included within the works was also the changeover of all flooring in the first floor offices. In this case work was delivered in three phases allowing staff to be temporarily relocated before new furniture was installed within each completed area.
A good reminder that clients don’t need to begin with a ‘blank canvas’ in order to achieve their ideal office space.
